Josie took care of our daughter (starting at 7mo) and another girl (who was 2mo younger) in our nanny share for a year and a half. She is kind but firm, clearly loved the girls but taught them boundaries and appropriate discipline. In those first weeks, Josie got the girls on the same schedule, and they got much better about eating solid food and about sleeping independently. At 2 years old (at which point they went to daycare), the girls ate neatly, put away toys, were good about taking turns, and were very well behaved toddlers. Josie will tell you that she is an “outdoor nanny.” We received daily photo updates about what our kid got into that day. Our daughter loved Josie and was happy to see her each day. Josie took her on adventures, even from a young age: to the park, to the library, out to lunch at a restaurant. And she easily handled this with two kids. Josie offered great advice to us as first-time parents, and was kind and reassuring. Finally, Josie is one of the most reliable people we have ever worked with. She had one sick day in the year and a half of working with us. We are very lucky that she helped raise our daughter.
