I have worked with folks with disabilities for almost 15 years. I have a degree in Therapeutic Recreation and have worked with folks of all ages and abilities. I have spent a good 10 years as a nanny and house manager for families with kids with disabilities (toddlers, teens and every one in between). In between the nannying jobs I've worked with elder adults in assistive living facilities providing fun recreational for their residents in various stages of dementia, at an outdoor camp for people of all ages and disabilities providing full care in and out of the cabins. For the last three years I have worked as a Program Counselor at a local organization where I served and supported 14 adults with intellectual and physical disabilities by creating system and strategies they can implement in their homes and in the community so they can live as independently as possible. My oversight was all encompassing managing everything from financials to social plans. I'd love to talk more!
