Hi there! My nickname is JP and I'm a preschool teacher and musician who is looking for some great families in Los Angeles who want excellent childcare. I've been a teacher since 2001 and I have experience with all ages of kids. My area of expertise is with 3-5-year-olds as I've been a mixed-age teacher at preschools in Seattle, ATX, & LA for 10+ years. I'm looking for full or part-time work with families on the west side (I'm in Mar Vista). I love working with young learners, especially setting them up for creative and explorative projects or experiences and helping them find joy. I love music and try to sing or play music with children as much as possible. I also enjoy crafting, drawing, painting, games, and sports so there are lots of ways for us to spend some quality time together. We initially met J. P. when he was my son's preschool teacher. He was an incredibly thoughtful educator and did a great job engaging the children while setting clear boundaries and making the children feel safe. We loved how enthusiastic he was about encouraging his class to explore and try new things. With J. P. as their sitter, my sons, ages 6 and 4, had a blast going on an "urban adventure," traipsing through our neighborhood, finding a new park, and playing in the sand at the beach. My husband and I returned home to find them figuring out a board game and eager to tell us about their afternoon. Sounded like everyone had a fun time.
