About John

For the past 30 years, I've been a certified teacher, helping students learn and grow through personalized support, including tutoring and homeschool. I like to establish a good rapport with my students, encouraging them as they develop academic skills in the subject areas of focus. I work with parents and students to address all their needs and concerns. I can make adjustments when necessary, to bring about the best learning experience. We can connect topics to their interests and cheer progress to keep them motivated. I want them to feel good about what they are learning, even when a subject (like math) may be difficult. I enjoy teaching the material and seeing my students' confidence grow as they master new skills and concepts. I'm eager to help your child succeed in math, reading, writing, social studies, basic science, and chess. I am comfortable tutoring students from 1st grade thru 7th grade (and also adults).
