About Joey

I'm an educator, tutor, and academic coach with over 10 years of experience supporting students from elementary school through college. My background includes classroom teaching, private tutoring, and one-on-one academic mentoring. I specialize in literacy, writing, humanities coursework, and executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and study strategy. I help students clarify ideas, structure essays, and break down complex assignments so they can work more independently and confidently. I also have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent learners, including students with ADHD and autism, using executive function coaching to strengthen focus, planning, and self-advocacy. My sessions integrate social-emotional learning, reflection, and creative thinking, helping students build confidence while developing strong communication, curiosity, and resilience in their learning.
