My name is Joelle. I have worked in different fields throughout my life and it finally came together when some of my friends were looking for help and were desperately trying to stay in their home. They had given so much of their life to help others and now I felt it was time for them to get something back to get cared for. That's when I knew I wanted to give seniors a chance to stay in their home safely and keep enjoying life. I am energetic and positive. I will encourage exercise and creativity. I will help with personal care (if needed) do laundry and light cleaning , drive to appointments grocery and outings. It is about what they need when they need it. I am responsible reliable and honest. I have worked with people with cancer Alzheimer and seniors who just needed companionship and support They've all taught me patience respect compassion and appreciation.
Joelle has been caring for my husband, who has Alzheimer's, for over four years. She is amazing with him. Her mission has always been keeping him meaningfully engaged. She gets him outdoors for short walks whenever possible, guides him though his PT exercises, plays cards with him, helps him prepare desserts and fruit salads, supervises him on his exercise bike, and generally keeps him active while allowing him to choose more restful activities like reading or occasionally watching TV. She has adjusted her approach to him as his needs have become greater. She always treats him with respect and kindness. She pitches in around our house when needed, prepping food for dinner (she used to be a caterer), making beds, folding laundry, etc. I appreciate that if she sees something that needs to be done, she does it! She began with us just one afternoon a week, but she has gradually built up her time as our needs became greater, and she is now with us five afternoons a week. She has seldom missed a day with us or been late, either. She is one of the most reliable people in my life! Conscientious about sanitation, she reminds him to wash his hands, and she will wear a mask if she has been exposed to someone who has been ill. I could not have kept my husband at home this long without her help. She has become like a family member. I bless the day we found her!
