I started in preschools in the 2. 6-3. 6 age group the gradually moved into substitute teaching. I have experience with special needs kids (autistic, paraplegic, blind, cognitive impairment, emotional/behavioral impairment). I have gathered several tricks in my time sub teaching and working in the preschool setting I would have no problem setting up a lesson plan for a fun and educational day! I can work with any age group, reading Dr. Seuss can be just as fun as reading Fahrenheit 451! I have been working with extreme cognitively impaired children consistently since the beginning of 2020. I understand how to teach in a multitude of ways, I am a quick learner on each child's specific lifting/feeding needs, I understand how to handle behavior issues, and I like working with these kids! Mainly on due to school closings because of COVID-19 but I am excited to make long lasting connections!

Joel was our life saver. Our kids have PTSD and our son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, which is certainly difficult to manage on a daily basis, but hen Virtual School hit us. Joel, with his background in special needs kids, not only kept our son under control, but was instrumental in keeping him on track academically. Joel was very creative in advancing and enriching our son's experiences in many diverse areas. He would certainly not be at his academic and behavioral level without Joel. His mentor-ship for our son was far exceeding our expectations. We would hire him again in a blink, but understand Joel's wish to continue his steep career trajectory. We wish him all the best and sincerely hope to stay in touch. We would be happy to provide more details if requested. The H Family
