About Joan S

I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education, Minor in Home Economics and a Certification in Education. Originally from NYC, so I bring the passion! Taught school for 5 years in Columbus, OH in diverse settings and populations. Moved to Taos, NM where I ran and taught at an elementary school. Becoming a Mom, I took a few years off from public school teaching and worked at a preschool so my baby could come with. Few years later back to teaching in elementary, middle and high school. My experience is with all subject areas and various kinds of learners. Moving to South Florida after 11 years in NM, I found myself again teaching all grade levels and mixed learner populations. During this time I received a Masters in Counseling. I have experience as a Life Coach. For the past 3 years I have been working as an Early Literacy Intervention Specialist. One of those years as a Math Interventionist. I am about to receive a certification in Reading Endorsement. I have a Broward teacher badge.
