I'd describe my personality as thoughtful, optimistic, energetic. I like working with kids because of the joy and wonder they have for the simplest things. Working with kids just makes me smile. I'm looking for a job that is in the evenings during the week (5:00 or later) or on weekends. I started working with kids 25 years ago. I have three grown children in their 20s, I was a Girl Scout Leader for 7 years, and ran a pony camp on our horse farm for 5 years. In my spare time, I like to hike, bike, boat, paddleboard, practice yoga, spend time with friends and family. One thing you should know about me is that I take childcare responsibilities seriously, and will treat them the way I would want someone to have treated my own children. My skills include creative play even when toys are not available, arts and crafts, understanding the needs of infants based on their behavior and types of cries.

We were visiting from out of state for a wedding with our 2 boys - one is an active toddler and the other is a 10 month old baby (who happened to be fighting a cold)! Joanne jumped right in and cared for our boys with a confidence and competence that you hope for in the person tasked with watching your children. She also brought toys! It made the transition easy :) Joanne got both of our boys fed, bathed, and to bed. We felt assured the whole time, which gave us the freedom to relax and have fun. She even ran a steamy shower for our baby, who was congested, in order to help him get some mucus out before bed. She knows what she’s doing and she really cares. She kept our babies safe and happy. It was a great weekend! Don’t hesitate, hire her!
