About Joann

Hi! I'm Joann, and I understand the joys and challenges of caring for an aging loved one. My mother lived with Alzheimer's disease for 17 years, giving me experience supporting a loved one through every stage of dementia while she lived at home. I also helped manage my father's care as he lived with chronic lung disease until he was 90. These experiences inspired me to become an Alzheimer's educator and advocate, helping families better understand dementia and caregiving. I also have professional experience working on issues affecting older adults, including aging in place, home safety, and fall prevention. I enjoy helping older adults stay active, engaged, connected, and as independent as possible through meaningful activities that support their interests and abilities.
