I have my Masters Degree in Special Education and specialize in direct instruction/tutoring. I am also available for simple homework help. I have provided social skills training as appropriate as well. I have experience as a classroom teacher and federal level interventionist. I have taught hundreds of children to read, and enjoy working with all ages, from preschool through adulthood. My particular passion is writing instruction, but I am available for virtually any of your child's (or your) educational needs

Joanna has been a godsend for our 11th grader. She certainly knows her subject matter, but even more importantly, can convey it in a way that is heard and understood. She is able to really connect, even on days when our student is feeling overwhelmed. In addition to helping make assignments understandable, Joanna has instilled a sense of confidence and a positive way of approaching school work (and life) that carries on in school and even outside the classroom.
