About Joanna

Joanna was the main caretaker for my mother who had stage 4 lung cancer. She worked Monday-Friday during the days so she had the most contact with my mother and along with that the responsibilities of that timeframe. She assisted with Activities of Daily living, making sure mom was always clean, showered according to to the level of care needed. Initially being there as a resource as needed, but stepping in as time progressed and assisting with showering and daily care as needed. Joanna also helped ensure that doctor appointments were kept current and would provide me updates when I wasn't able to attend or call in by phone. She assisted with medication delivery and also conveyed any side effects when they began to occur. In addition, she kept the house clean, laundry done and meals prepared on a daily basis. Towards the end when moms memory was failing, she calmly oriented her to reality, but doing so without causing anxiety. Joanna was truly a blessing to our family.
