About Joanie

I am a substitute teacher with experience working with students in K4 through 2nd grade classrooms. I specialize in helping young learners strengthen reading, phonics, foundational math, and early learning skills while building confidence. I love seeing the moment when reading finally "clicks" for a child. My approach is patient, encouraging, and focused on helping students feel successful as they build strong academic foundations. Many students benefit from tutoring in a focused environment outside the home, such as a quiet library or learning space where distractions are limited and learning can take place. I offer support with phonics, early reading, sight words, foundational math skills, and homework help for K-2 students. I am also available during student breaks, teacher workdays, and for more in-depth tutoring during the summer. My services focus specifically on education support and tutoring, not nanny or housekeeping services.
