About Joan

I am a retired special education and regular Ed teacher. I tried teaching methods for reading until I found the one that teaches quickly. I enjoy seeing children learn and seeing that light in their eyes when they know they can succeed. I'd describe my personality as initially quiet with adults and playful and connected with students. I like working with kids because I enjoy seeing them learn. I'm looking for a job that is a few hours a week where I can make a difference for a child. I started working with kids when I was a teenager with my second cousins. In my spare time, I like to read, do puzzles, and sew. One thing you should know about me is when I know you I am not so quiet. My skills include, rapport with children, teaching reading and math skills, and letting my results speak for themselves.
