I have been a private caregiver for the past 6 years. The first two years I was responsible for a 72-year-old man who had just had his hips replaced, until he fully recovered from surgery. For the last 4 years I took care of a 80-year-old man with dementia, Alzheimer, and other health issues. I would come in daily and provided him conversations and companion. I was also responsible for meals, grooming, grocery shopping, running errands, taking/accompanying to doctor appointments, giving medication on time, etc. I have always had the desire to help others and I know how hard it is getting old and I see myself in them and I try to do my best. being patient, loving and caring. It makes me feel good, and it is really fulfilling.
