Hello, I worked as a direct care staff for two years assisting individuals with daily living skills such as; hygiene, transportation to and from doctors appointments, meal preparation, medication administration and household cleaning. I was then prompted to be QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional) within the company. I worked with the individuals and professional team to create an implementation plan for the year. The implementation plan included goals the individual wanted to accomplish within the year. The goals included financial goals, health and safety, and or natural supports (i. e. family, friends, neighbors). After leaving the company I accepted a position with, Agency for Person with Disabilities.
