About Jess

Hello there! My name is Jess, and I am a recent transplant to the Northern Colorado area. I grew up in Wisconsin, and I went to college at the University of Wisconsin (go Badgers!). I spent my summers in college working at Camp Timberline in Estes Park, and between the people I met there and the beauty of this state, I decided that I wanted to live in Fort Collins. I am starting grad school this spring to pursue a career in Secondary Education, and my first few semesters have minimal credit hours and a lot of online classes. Therefore, I have a flexible schedule and a lot of free time, and I would love to fill that time working with a fun, outgoing, active family. I have experience as a traditional after school nanny, where I cared for 3 elementary aged kids (including twins), and was responsible for driving them to activities, helping with homework, and making dinner. I loved getting to be a part of their family and getting to care for those kids every day. My time at Camp Timberline gave me some unique experience in child care, as I was responsible for many children in a variety of camp settings. At camp, I learned so much about being flexible and creative with activities (especially on the days when the weather trapped us inside!) and how to care for kids in a way that keeps safety as the number one priority but simultaneously creating a fun and energetic environment. I also was a backpacking guide, where I took 8-10 middle and high school students on week-long backpacking trips. I am very active- I love being outside, playing games, and going on walks and bike rides. I also love, love, love to read, and drink coffee, and chat with friends.
