I have experience with children of all ages infant to 18 years. In high school I worked in a child developmental care classroom with 3-5-year-old kids. During my first years of college I worked in a daycare and learning center for 2 years as the lead teacher when I was only 21. Volunteer time at an elementary school after high school convinced me to teach. My Bachelors degree is in multidisciplinary studies with a concentration in special education, English 4-8, and art. Through out my bachelors degree I had many observation a volunteer opportunities in a middle school setting. My focus was to observe mild to moderate intellectual disabilities including but not limited to Down Syndrome and Autism. I am now working on my masters in Special Ed. and hope to study this summer to get teaching certification. I love children of all ages and have had numerous classes on child development, behavior, and learning. I am a strong believer that I have been called to care for children and I am passionate beyond belief about solving each puzzling little mind and bringing out their true potential based on their abilities not disabilities. I am currently employed by the military child care system and I am certified in first aid, CPR, and medication administration and communicable diseases. Working for the military child care system also requires a passed background check as well as random drug testing, there for your child is guaranteed to be safe with me. I am looking for a job that is a little closer to home and has better work hours.
