Experience: 5 yrs
Making a difference in the lives of adults and seniors is my calling. For the past five years, I've provided compassionate care, including respite and hospice support, personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and assistance with mobility and physical activity. I adapt to changing routines, de-escalate stressful situations, and handle confusion with patience. I understand the importance of connecting with care recipients by learning their preferences and personal history. I communicate with families using their preferred method, whether through written reports or verbal updates. With some college education and certifications in CPR and First Aid, I am well-prepared to support your loved one. My calm and friendly nature allows me to bring peace of mind to those I care for, and I look forward to bringing that same comfort to your family.
I am writing to highly recommend Jessica for employment as your lead caregiver. Jessica became lead caregiver for my elderly parents, in February 2025. Jessica was a standout caregiver in the long line of caregivers I had been managing for my parents - she immediately made me feel at ease. Duties consisted of making meals for my parents, cleaning their beds and bathrooms, doing laundry, overseeing/administering meds, support and conversation, bringing them to doctors appointments, and generally overseeing any care that they needed. Later, she managed the 24-hour care schedule and the other caregivers, as well as communications and interaction with hospice in both of my parents’ cases. These are the traits and characteristics that made Jessica stand out amongst all of the others I had worked with: - Jessica is very intelligent, experienced, and knowledgeable about caregiving. She not only understands the medical side of things (if there is something that she has not experienced, she takes the time to research or consult with others and learns very quickly) but she also can explain it to me and my family in the context of the care she is providing. - Jessica is a take charge and confident household manager. She immediately was able to take in the scenario of my parents and manage all of their daily meals, appointments, errands, medications, and communications with me without a lot of input. She did this within the first 2 weeks of employment! For those decisions or actions that mattered, she was thoughtful and always consulted me. She did not make decisions that affected my parents’ health, finances, or well-being without consulting / asking me first. In the next phases of my parents’ health when my mother (and later my father) needed more than 2 shifts of care a day, Jessica hired, trained and managed all of the caregivers to provide 24-hour care for each of my parents, in turn. Her management of this was a welcome relief for me, who had been struggling for the 6 months prior to even find caregivers. - Jessica is a compassionate caregiver. The combination of someone competent AND who really cares and has the best bedside manner to deal with my parents was more than I could ask for. She was gentle with my mother for her dementia and firm with my stubborn father, when he needed it, but always with respect and many times with humor that kept their relationship whole. My father told me many times he could not do without Jessica (and he did not say that about any of the other caregivers). Jessica treated both of my parents as well as she would her own. She also spent many extra hours in the hospital with my parents during different episodes and checked on my parents even when it was not her shift. - Jessica is even keeled, has a lot of humor, and personable. She is the type of person who can get along with any type of personality. She was of great comfort to me and my siblings during the deaths of my parents. I am happy to talk to you by phone anytime and I highly recommend you hire Jessica for your caregiving needs.
