As an ABA therapist at a hospital in the metro Detroit area, I work every day with clients with an Autism Diagnosis. The age range of the clients that I have encountered range from 2 to 21 years old. Every day with my clients we work with teaching skills like teeth brushing, hand washing, and toilet training. With my older clients, we work in different ways to carry out conversations with their friends at school. I have experience with clients dealing with self-injurious behaviors including; headbanging, wrist biting, and various forms of hitting oneself. Additionally, I have experience in working with challenging behaviors such as eloping and forms of aggression towards others. I have a significant amount of experience with PECS boards, AAC device, and a growing knowledge of ASL.
