About Jessica

I'm Jessica but most kids call me Saka; bestowed on me by a 2yr old who couldn't pronounce Jessica. Accordingly, I melted into a puddle and vowed that all kids could call me Saka from then on. I have 9yrs of professional nanny experience for a family of 3 and approximately half a life time of babysitting under my belt (20yrs? yikes!) Despite being 40yrs old I would say I'm a big kid at heart, making jobs that center around children come easily if not completely natural to me. (I have also worked as a librarian and a candy maker.) My nanny style is laid-back sternness. I lead with a silly, no stress, emotional awareness attitude but I am also here to help children be the best versions of themselves and that means accountability, time management, and what I like to call community awareness (being aware of how your actions affect the "community" i. e. the family members or people you interact with on a daily bases). All this to say I somehow made a career out of being an Auntie, amazing!
