I enjoy reading, walking, being outside, painting, crafts and baking. I began home nursing in 2014, caring for an elderly couple in their 90s. In 2016 I was a live in Home nurse for a lady who had dementia. I cared for her for about 10 years, taking care of her medication, getting her to exercise, prepare meals, bathe, clean house, laundry. We did activities together such as puzzles, coloring books, go to a local café, sit outside, listen to music and read to her. As her dementia increased, I would adjust her level of activity. Her dementia made her violent at times during bathing, I learned to be very patient with her. I enjoy slowing down, going at their pace in life. Clear communication helps everyone involved as caring for a loved one requires team effort. I'm soon to CPR certified again this March. I also love all kinds of pets.
