Hello! I enjoy helping seniors with their activities of daily living and creating teachable moments for boosting independence. I was a caregiver for my grandmother in her last 4 years and it was an enlightening experience. She had Alzheimer's and lived till 104 still able to walk, talk and play with the family cats. My grandma was an extremely beautiful woman, but I truly seen how beautiful she was inside during these years by always smiling and being cooperative throughout her memory challenges. She gave herself much grace through the frustrating moments, especially during her last few months as her Alzheimer's and dementia symptoms worsened. This experience has made me more compassionate to seniors and when I'm caring for them I see my grandmother and I feel that she would be proud to see me respecting and giving back to elders.
