About Jennifer

Things started out wonderfully with Jennifer, she was great with my 2 year old and helped him overcome separation anxiety. She would take him out to do activities such as the park, his favorite stores, and the zoo. She even took him to see his first theater movie. I am very high risk pregnant and have had many medical problems and she said she was committed to watching him while I was in labor and gave birth as I have no support system and absolutely no one to watch him during that time. She was with me for over 2 months, and then 2 weeks before my expected delivery date she sprung on me that she required a set schedule moving forward, which is impossible because of my many doctor appointments that I do not get to choose the times of or the days. This had never been a problem in the 2 months prior and was a complete surprise to me. I asked her if she could do less than 20 hours a week so I could give her a set schedule and have someone else for the flex schedule I would need for my hospital appointments, but she said no. She required a min of 20 hours a week at $25/hr, now with a set schedule, just 2 weeks before baby is supposed to be here. If a set schedule would have been required at hire I would have had the chance to say no and move on, but to require it after establishing a relationship with my son and promising to be here for us during labor and delivery just 2 weeks before expected delivery leaving me barely any time to find someone else to bond with my son long enough to stay overnight with him was very very stressful. To require 20 hour a week min and a month advance notice before letting her go, but then she would take time off and I couldn't afford a backup sitter and then only gave me 1 week notice when she quit was very hard on me and my son since I am a single mother. I felt very backed into a corner with very few options. If you have a backup sitter, Jennifer is great.
