About Jenna

I am a single, working mom. I hired Jenna and her mother Joan to watch my 5-year-old daughter. I originally hired Joan, but she brought her Jenna as well and sold themselves as a two-person team, so I would never be without. They spent about 6 hours in my home doing side by side training. They were very excited to begin as was I. I let my babysitter go and they advised that they both let their other jobs know. (I should have known something was not right as Joan spoke negatively about all of her babysitting jobs. Joan did one 3-hour babysitting shift where I was present the entire time. I tried to watch TV in a den close by, but she followed me. She was very insecure and needed excessive emotional validation from me with respect to her lack of education, marital infidelity, etc. She also had a bizarre way of saying everything was deadly, including Nutella (my daughter loves), batteries, etc. My daughter is very warm and loving and was trying to get Joan's attention, but Joan was focused on me and would not stop talking to me and needed adult validation and interaction. My daughter loves to be with people one on one, and every time I left the room, she tried to bond with Joan, who was completely unavailable for her to connect with. Joan was supposed to start the next morning, but instead of showing up, I received this text..."Jenna and I talked last night when I got home, and we don't think that we're the best fit for...I think I turned into an old fart. I was so nervous she was going to get hurt when she was jumping on the couch and when she was standing in the bathtub playing. Jenna's used to watching babies right now and more comfortable with that, and I'm not energetic enough for... You are both soo wonderful and I feel sad already. I'm sorry, and we hope you have a great holiday." Thus, these ladies, who asked for more money than I've ever paid, wasted my time and left me without any childcare. In addition to the terrible position these ladies put me in, I had to explain this to my child and protect her feelings. I would not waste my time on either of these ladies as they are beyond irresponsible and immature.
