My name is Jenna, I'm in my early 30s and have over 10 years of experience babysitting. I'm currently a PhD student studying Child Development at the University of Maryland in the School of Education. My current studies help me to bring a developmentally conscious approach to childcare. I love kids and really enjoy getting to know the families I work with. As a babysitter, I do my best to engage children in fun and educational activities, and to meet your child's interests and passions. I do this, for example, through playing board games, reading books, baking, building forts, making scavenger hunts, or even imaginary play. When babysitting, I also find it's important to keep family routines and household rules consistent when parents are away, as routines are integral for young children. Jenna has been our neighborhood babysitter since she was 11 years old. At that time we had 2 toddlers and a newborn. She is charming, creative, and fun. She was very reliable when we scheduled ahead of time and very flexible when I called for last minute help. My children are now 12, 11 and 9 (all boys) and they still want Jenna to come over and build forts, create scavenger hunts, do a craft, or read to them. We miss her in Barrington, but she will be a great asset to any family looking for a sitter for their children.
