About Jen-lan

A few years ago, I accomplished a decades long dream to become a teacher. I was hired as an Afterschool Enrichment Teacher working with students in the Oxnard School District, where I taught sewing, crafts, magic, and the recorder flute. Presently, I am now an online and in-person Art Instructor focused on students with special needs. I also drive students with special needs to and from schools within Ventura County. I lead a very happy life and am in the right mind and life stage to fulfill my heart's purpose in child education. My approach is child lead, and I believe in wide set and consistent boundaries, encasing freedom of choice, respect, and positive support within. A nurturing upbringing includes healthy foods, emotional intelligence, limited screen time, and experiencing the world's offerings. Most importantly, being a parent makes me a better teacher, and being a teacher makes me a better parent.
