About Jena

Hi, my name is Jena! I come from a very large family where I have 18 younger cousins. I've grown up caring for them and then in high school began babysitting and nannying children outside of my family. I have an undergraduate degree in sociology: youth and community and a minor in education studies. I have my master's degree in Higher Education and currently work as a Case Manager at the University of California San Diego. I have experience working with children with special needs as well as medically complex children. I have been trained in and have worked with Tracheostomies, Ventilators, G-Tubes, and other complex medical equipment. My style is structured, steady and intertwined with creativity and fun. I love to meet each child where they are at and use arts and crafts, recreational activities, and other interests they may have to bond with them. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your family!
