About Jeanna

I work with middle and high school students who feel overwhelmed by reading and unsure where to begin. With an Ed. S. degree and a focus on adolescent literacy, I provide in-person, structured literacy support in the Des Moines metro area to help students build the skills and confidence they need to engage with grade-level texts. My background as a middle and high school English teacher and reading interventionist has given me a clear understanding of secondary academic expectations and the gaps that can quietly follow students from year to year. I approach each learner with empathy, especially those whose foundational reading skills were never fully solidified, and design instruction that respects both their age and their needs.
