About Jayla

Hi! I'm a joyful, empathetic, and loving caregiver who started caring for children at age 13. I began as a camp counselor and later nannied for a family with a child with Down syndrome and his pre-teen brother. I've also done various babysitting jobs and am currently caring for a 9-month-old (for the past 5 months) while also helping with a 5-year-old. I truly enjoy creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel seen, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. Watching them grow, learn, and reach milestones is incredibly rewarding to me. My top childcare skills include empathy and emotional awareness, adaptability and patience and providing reliable, attentive care with a strong focus on safety, routines, and positive engagement. I'm currently looking for a long-term position and am open to both part-time or full-time opportunities. I'm also pursuing an online Health Science degree with a focus in psychology, which supports my understanding of child development!
