About Jasmin

Hello! My name is Jasmin, and I am a recent college graduate in Physics and Mathematics from American University. I reside in the Tenleytown-AU area of Washington and am a research assistant, as well as an after-school mathematics instructor for children ages 5-17. I work with up to 8 students at a time and up to 30 a day, almost every day! Much of my experience working with children of all ages were in different contexts, but all focused on their socioemotional development. I taught martial arts to children for 6 years on a volunteer basis. My youngest brother was 2 when I moved here for college and I spent his early years as his caregiver during the pandemic. In the past few years, Washington DC has become my second home and I am very familiar with the Tenleytown-AU, Spring Valley, Cathedral Heights, Friendship Heights, and Bethesda areas. Life is to be experienced, and I bring that to children by teaching emotional regulation, communication skills, and establishing routines.
