About Janine

Hello, my name is Janine. I love children & they are my specialty. I am creative, with the special skill to calm mostly any child & make them smile due to my patient & caring nature. I have two children, 17 & 13 years old, they are getting older. I love to cook & have cooked for my lovelies since they were tots. So much that I had to ease them into eating McDonald's & other Fast Food just so I could get a break & they complained that the burgers & fries weren't the same. However eventually they were OK with it since it was only occasional. I have been working with children for a large part of my life as my mother owns a Dance Studio, and does many things within the community. I became a Dance Instructor to children & adults ages 18 months & up 20 years ago. I have been babysitting my niece (5) and nephew (6) since they were born. I previously worked for the U.B. Childcare Centers with the Infants, Toddlers & Universal Pre-K children, and in working at both the South and North Campus sites I became a personal sitter for some of the children that I cared for at the center at their parents request. I would sit for them at their houses whenever they needed serving a variety of ages as well as genders. I recently opened up my own Dance School 1 Of A Kind Dance and had our first successful Dance recital. Mentor for youth/troubled & disadvantaged youth. I volunteer for several organizations within the community one being a Board Member & the Artistic Director/Choreographer/Talent Coach for the Young Miss Buffalo Pageant. I only speak English. I am absolutely all about age appropriate behavior, manners & making sure children reflect their parents great parenting skills even when they are no where in site. They should always think that parents may know everyone they encounter so they should always be at their very best as well as behaved. If it keeps the child's attention and it is something that they can learn from & grow then we will do it until they master it and then try some more. I am active & I love inspiring children to step outside of their comfort zones to try knew things. My daughter was a preemie & weighed 2-lbs 4 ounces & I work with Children & Adults with disabilities and have done so with school age children with developmental, learning and/or neurological disabilities within an inclusive safe after school program assisting them with building their fine & gross motor skills, social skills and teaching appropriate behaviors.
