About Janie

I'd describe my personality as patient, empathetic, and curious. I like tutoring because I like working with kids and aiding them to be the best version of themselves possible. I wasn't the best student growing up, but it wasn't for lack of potential, so I enjoy seeing students succeed beyond their expectations. I started tutoring when I was a junior in high school through National Honor Society. I tutored in college and afterward but took a break to focus on my career. I am in a place now where I would like to carve out some time to get back to working with students. In my spare time, I like to dance. I take ballet and modern dance classes. I also like to snuggle with my two cats, Henry and Bug! One thing you should know about me is that I am the Director of an historic house museum downtown. I love what I do! But I don't have kids and I live far from my nieces and nephews so I will be excited to get to know and contribute my skills to your family.
