About Janice

I love working with senior citizens. I cared for them in their homes, preparing meals, doing housekeeping, running errands, grocery shopping, bathing, transferring, reminding them to take their medications if needed, and giving them companionship. I was also responsible for helping my mom with my dad when he had Alzheimer and prostrate cancer, until the final stages when he had to be cared for in a nursing home. In later years I also took care of my mother when she was ill, and after she had a stroke. During the last few months of her life she had Dementia and didn't recognize people but she was such a joy to care for as she was such a kind and sweet person. Even though it was very difficult to see my mom like this it was an honor to be able to give back and care for her as she had for us. With what I have seen my own family face I know how important it is to get good care for your loved ones, and that seniors retain respect and dignity when being cared for. I would give companionship and respect to seniors as I know first hand how vital they are. Seniors have so much to offer with their experiences and knowledge. I just want to give back, in memory of my own mom.
