About Janette

I am a dedicated and passionate educator with over 15 years of teaching experience in New York City public schools. From 2017 to 2023, I taught English Language Arts at the middle school level, where I developed and delivered engaging, standards-based lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of my students. Prior to that, I taught high school Social Studies from 2002 to 2010, and I hold certification in that subject area. My broad teaching background also includes experience in preschool and Special Education, which has given me a deep understanding of differentiated instruction and the importance of meeting students where they are. As a tutor, I bring not only subject matter expertise in ELA and Social Studies but also patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to student success. I understand the unique challenges that students face and pride myself on building strong relationships that support both academic growth and confidence.
