I retired last year, so I have an open schedule. I helped care for my mother, who had Dementia. I bathed her, dressed her, went shopping for her, and kept her company. I understand dealing with dementia takes patience and understanding. My mom was the sweetest person growing up, but dementia made her angry, defiant, and confused, and I always understood that was the disease and not my Mom. I knew the ways to handle her situations after raising a son with defiant tendencies.
