I mentored young children from Monday-Thursday, which has given me tons of experience dealing with kids from all backgrounds. Jamya watched our 15 month old son during the work days while our babysitter was out for three weeks. Our son loves Mya, and she was able to get him down for his naps better than anyone in the house! We have a very wakeful baby (and we never sleep trained) so this is a testament to her skills as a caregiver. I'm hoping we'll be able to see Mya for weekend visits in the future!
