As the oldest of eight children, I've been taking care of babies and kids almost all my life. Children are very delightful to me. I love experiencing the world through their eyes and explaining science to them in real life/real time. Although I'm not currently CPR certified, I have been twice in the past. Plus I've got a lot of experience keeping children safe so they don't need first aid. I try to support each child in their stage of development. For example, toddlers need to learn independence and that they are able and competent to accomplish tasks on their own. All children need lots of verbal reassurance, validation, positive reinforcement, and attention. I've gotten very good at doing that. Those words and actions have become a habit for me.
