About Jamie

I'd describe my personality as caring, patient, and creative. I like tutoring because one-on-one instruction allows me to meet individual needs. I enjoy helping students overcome challenges and celebrate growth. I started tutoring in high school. I earned an Elementary Education degree from MSU with a minor in math and Spanish. I taught in Fenton and Waterford for 8 years. I enjoyed my teaching experience, but I prefer tutoring so I can individualize instruction. I am a dance instructor/choreographer for children ages 3-18 in a variety of styles. Tap is my strongest suit. I enjoy teaching Slow Flow and Vinyasa Yoga to adults of all ages and levels. I love to read and study Spanish. I enjoy spending time outside, practicing yoga, and listening to live jazz music. My husband and I are in the process of adopting a sibling group from Costa Rica. We also have a loving Yorkie-Poodle. My skillset includes scaffolding instruction, lesson design, and knowledge of curriculum.
