I worked full time for a family for over 3 years. They had 2 boys, then age 2 and 3. I would cook, clean, play, read, help potty train, help walk and help plan the boys birthday parties. I loved working with the family.

When I first met Jamie, she was not dressed professionally. Her tattoos were showing and a lot of leg was showing, but she had been running all day so I understood if she didn't have time to change. I thought she had her own transportation but her fiance has been driving her around. So she probably wouldn't have been with us long seeing how I would like someone who can take my daughter to the zoo and park. As a single mother who works full time, I was hoping she would be understanding of the pay rate of 9 an hour. She wanted 10, or 225 a week, which wasn't going to happen seeing how she was only watching my daughter and not cleaning or making food. I wouldn't tell any of my friends about her because she's not understanding of others and just wants what's best for her.

I recently hired Jamie to watch my two children and our new puppy. I had several issues with her, I came home one day to find both my children in my room with the lights off watching movies and she was sitting in the front room watching the "big" tv as my daughter calls it. When I arrived home she was standing in my bedroom to look as though she was back there, but when I asked my daughter because it seems strange she told me she was watching the "big" tv. I have an almost 2 yr old so falling off the bed would have been an issue. When I paid her she complained about the bank I used and I called the bank to see what forms of id they would take for her, but instead of thanking me she just walked out. I received a text the night before her second week was to start and she stated she had an asthma attack and would let me know if she was admitted. She never called only txt that she was admitted and said she would let me know. She then explained that last time this occurred she was in the hospital 10 days and then two weeks of bed rest. Not sure if she was having a bad week or what, but her starter also went out on her vehicle so I had to set up bus transportation for my daughter when she was supposed to be dropping her off and picking her up. She was on time the week that she did watch my children.

Jamie is kind, hard working, thorough, adaptable, and reliable.  Some of her duties include helping me with my 2 year old and my baby; washing dishes and baby/toddler feeding bottles and utensils; spot treating stains on baby clothes, as well as completing the laundry.  Her only fault, which may not be a problem for others, may be her readiness to start work very early.  For her interview, she arrived 25 minutes early, which she attributed to a desire to avoid construction and not become lost, both understandable concerns.  On her first day on the job, she arrived very early again.  I felt pressured because I was still nursing the baby and couldn't get up to open the door right away.  After I explained my personal preference to arrive no earlier than 5 minutes early or on time, Jamie arrived for work from that point at the anticipated start time.  All in all, Jamie is quite pleasant and helpful.

I had a phone interview set up with Jamie. When I called her to conduct the interview, she did not answer the phone. I left her a message to call me back within 10 min, and she called back 25 min after. She apologized and stated she had stepped away from her phone. I informed her that punctuality was important in our search for a nanny, and I did not continue the phone interview. This was a terrible first impression she made to a potential employer.

We used Jamie when our regular babysitter was out of town. She was came out the day before to meet the children, was on time (actually early), friendly, and my kids seemed to have a good time. We would use her again if our regular was unavailable.
