Currently, I am a high school special education social studies teacher at a title I high school in New York City. I am also a part-time graduate student! As I have my summers off, I would love to still be around kids and learn from one another. I studied art and photography in college, and my favorite thing to do is arts and crafts! I have plenty of skills such as knitting, painting, and cooking. Before becoming a teacher, I was a full time baby sitting, and spent most of my summers I have worked with two boys with ASD in high school, as well as working in a preschool, and I spent all of last year working with two children, one of which has ADHD. As a neurodivergent person myself, I find it quiet easy to work with, bond, and understand others who's minds work similarly to mine, and different from the way the world wants us to work. It is important to emphasize these parts of us that make us special and different, and not to change to what the world wants us to be.
