About Jada

I am the oldest sibling so I have cared for my siblings and younger cousins my entire life. Professionally, however, I have volunteered at an after school program for children between the ages of 6-12 years old. It was a gardening program in an inner-city neighborhood. We planted fruits and vegetables that were eventually cooked and served for lunch and breakfast. This was a great experience and gardening taught both the children and I patience. It was important that the children were safe when handling the tools we allowed them to. I had to keep an eye on a group of children that as typically 6 or 7 children of mixed ages. I have also babysat my cousin who is autistic. While I do not feel comfortable babysitting children with special needs professionally, I felt that this experience was important to mention anyway. I love to get fresh air and play games that do not always involve electronics. I am a big advocate of finding entertainment in things that do not come with a plug!
