About Jacqueline

I have been a special educator in a public school setting for 20 years. I am currently a 1st grade teacher. I have worked with students with varied abilities. I tutor students in kindergarten-4th grade in reading including fluency, accuracy, comprehension, phonics. I am Orton Gillingham (OG) certified and follow the OG approach to reading and spelling. Struggling readers, children with specific learning disabilities and dyslexia benefit greatly to this approach. I also provide instruction in mathematics including number sense, addition, subtraction, multiplication and problem solving. I am a step-mother to 3 amazing young adults and a mother of 2 school aged girls. Teaching, learning and being a mom are all passions of mine and I feel so blessed to do what I love each and everyday!

Jackie is such an amazing teacher! My child has gained a new found love of reading and shows greater motivation to read. I also hear the progression when we read together. Jackie's scientific approach to reading has given me insight in my child's struggles and allowed me to better understand where the deficiencies are.
