⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ TEN STARS FOR JACOB – STRONG, HONEST & TRULY CARING Jacob was an absolute lifesaver!! He replied to my posting right away, showed up early, and worked a VERY VERY long, physically demanding move-out day without a single complaint. This was not the simple job that I honestly underestimated it to be. It was a 2000+ sq ft house, years of accumulated stuff, potential consignments, donations, trash, recyclables all mixed together. On top of that I am moving out of the country in about 10 days and I’ve been dealing with hoarding and ADHD for years.!! Yikes!! Needless to say this was an extremely overwhelming emotionally challenging move-out for me and Jacob stayed Calm, Very Kind, Supportive and 100% Non-Judgmental the whole time. Outside, he tackled a nightmare backyard: rain-soaked, disintegrating cardboard boxes, heavy awkward junk, and a locked 7-foot fence between us and the city garbage bins. He just said, “No problem,” and literally hauled everything across the huge yard, over the 7 foot tall fence, then down the alley to the huge dumpsters, over and over, and FAST! He also raked up all the dog-poop!! :) Inside, he carefully and respectfully handled my most personal spaces (bedroom, bathroom, important papers, meds, etc.). I had warned him that I used to stash cash in "Very Special Places" ... but of course I had forgotten where they all were. Later, while working packing up my bedroom, he quietly came to me with a stack of bills – $300 he had found – and just handed it over. No hesitation, no weirdness. That kind of honesty and integrity is SO VERY RARE! Even though we were under a tight time deadline that day whenever I needed to make a tough decision agonizing over what needed to go or to keep, Jacob would always quietly call me over and respectfully gave me enough time and opportunity to look over, mentally and emotionally process it and say goodbye to everything necessary. He often even humored me, picking over some items and acknowledging, "That certain thing is cool" or "Hey I'd even like to keep this." That kind of validation means EVERYTHING to a recovering hoarder. His compassion made it so much easier to let go of things. Priceless!!! On top of the muscle, he’s smart and thoughtful: he followed directions the first time, took initiative when I was overwhelmed, labeled boxes clearly, and made sure my “life necessities” (dog stuff, meds, CPAP, food, returns, etc.) went into my van instead of deep into storage so I’d actually have them at the motel. He also really got me and my brain and said he shared my values to protect the environment. He totally understood my urge not to waste things. He even offered to take some items (old tools, electronics, office supplies, etc.) to tinker with and reuse so they wouldn’t end up in a landfill, which again made it so much easier for me to let go. G (my amazing house-cleaner from Care.com) and I both agreed he’s a RARE FIND: strong, reliable, warm-hearted, and genuinely honest. I will absolutely be hiring Jacob again to help with my storage unit and the next phase of my move. He is the kind of person you can trust in your home, with your belongings and even with Your Most Vulnerable “Before” Picture. I am incredibly grateful the Universe sent him my way. If you need serious muscle, compassion and integrity HIRE JACOB!!
