About Jackie

I am a recent local college graduate. I work professionally for the NYS Department of Health as an accountant, but don't let the accountant title think I am a bore! I have babysit 4 or more children at a time since I was 14 years old for all age levels. I was a nanny for two summers for a 3-month-old and 3-year-old. When I was in high school, I cared for a 10-year-old girl with Down Syndrome. I would go to her house 2 days a week to help her with homework, make dinner for her and do fun activities. I believe a babysitter is someone to come and entertain children, whether it is making a pretend circus, doing arts and crafts or playing games, it is my job to make sure your child is safe but also having fun. I do not believe in using a television as entertainment. For me, the most satisfying thing is when a child is excited for me to come over and their parents to leave. It shows me I am doing my job.
