About Isabel
I am a Spanish heritage speaker and have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Arizona in Spanish, Arabic and Middle Eastern and North African Studies. I have taken part in various language programs to assist fellow students (previously ages 18-31) learn Spanish. I have experience doing volunteer interpreting for a refugee nonprofit. I have also conducted research in Spanish. I am currently attending American University for a Master's program in Intercultural and International Communication. I am extremely passionate about languages. I am fluent in Spanish and have high proficiency in Arabic, Persian, and Portuguese with limited proficiency in Polish. I love teaching language and I hope in the near future to work more with underrepresented communities to have equal access to services and resources that are easily attained by those who have more opportunity.
