About Iris

Iris has worked for my family for 9 years. From the time my son was an infant until today, Iris has made our family routines work. My husband and I both have demanding full time jobs, and Iris is the glue that keeps our household together. As a Nanny, she incredibly special because of the way she loves children. I often come home to find her playing an active (sweaty even!) game of mini hoops with my son, who is an avid basketball player. At every single stage, from infant through 4th grade, she engaged my son at his level, and through his interests. She isn’t scrolling on her phone, she is fully present and playing with the kids. This struck me most in the Tribeca playground near by our apartment. In a sea full of Nannies, the kids consistently jump all over Iris. She stands out because she loves her work and it shows in her actions, every day. She goes out of her way, year after year, to show her care through actions. Over the years she has made handmade piñatas for birthdays, put together Halloween costume parties, and made holidays incredibly festive. In addition the excellence she brings to her job, Iris is kind, firm, and gentle. In 9 years, my son has never had more than a scraped knee. She is a nurturing person, and a pleasure to be around, building rapport and a network with coaches, teachers, families, and everyone around her.
