About Iris

Hi, I'm Iris Ortega! I graduated from Texas State fall December 2025 with a bachelors degree in recreation therapy. I have been working with kids from the summer 2022 in a day care from ages 3 to 6. In the summer of 2024 I worked for the city of San Marcos Parks and rec and worked in their summer camp and I had kids ages 5-8. And then the summer of 2025 I worked for the city of Austin Parks and rec through the whole school year plus summer of 2026, I worked with kids ages 4 to 11. I taught them how to ride bikes, I'd go canoeing with them, hiking and a bunch of other outdoor activities with them, as well as lots of nature arts and crafts. Given my background, I have lots of experience with children and how to engage with them and how to entertain them with the outdoors!
