About Iris

Hi! I'm Iris, and I'm currently a middle school building substitute teacher with a B. A. in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Science. I'm also pursuing my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Working with students every day has given me experience supporting a wide range of learning styles, personalities, and academic needs. I especially enjoy helping students work through assignments they find frustrating, break larger tasks into manageable steps, and build confidence in their abilities. I'm available for after-school and weekend tutoring and can help with homework, reading and writing, social studies, basic math and science, test preparation, organization, and general study skills. My goal is to create a patient, encouraging environment where students can ask questions, learn at their own pace, and become more independent learners.
