About Irene

I have raised 5 children, 4 gifted girls and one special needs boy. My son had a cardiac condition, a blood disorder, and he was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 years old. By then he had been poked and prodded a million times and he was non-verbal and, thus, very frustrated and angry. It was quite the struggle, but he is now working full time. I had him scuba certified when he was 10 and sailing certified when he was 13. I've encountered every childhood illness and handled every imaginable emergency. I don't panic, I don't lose my temper, and I have learned some very effective discipline techniques. My house is the cool-aid house where all the kids hang out to swim, play games, or watch TV. I love the chaos when they're being rambunctious but I can get everyone to settle down and behave without a problem. I home schooled 2 of my girls and I am the designated family care giver for parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. I am CPR and First Aid Certified (Adult/Pediatric).
